A Message from the President

Welcome to Lower Lake Community Action Groups new website. Although it is an ongoing work in progress, there are a number of features that are immediately helpful to the reader.

A top priority is preparing for the Lower Lake Daze Parade & Street Fair held on May 28, 2023, Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Our Facebook page administrator, Ginger Kite has been commenting on the large number of folks asking about entry forms either for the parade or for venders. These forms are now available and can be completed online.

You will also find information about our Board members and volunteers; a brief history of LLCAG, our monthly member dinners and other upcoming events. News of interest to our Lower Lake community will be regularly posted as it occurs. If you have news, want to submit an article or have questions or comments, please feel free to contact us HERE.

The pandemic, as with many businesses and service organizations, impacted LLCAG greatly. Monthly member dinners were halted and we lost contact with many of our members. Although we continued many of our fundraising activities, such as the Octoberfest Dinner, we had to do them as take-out events. We also came up with other fundraisers such as the street banners purchased by our local business community.

Although it wasn’t the same, fortunately our community stuck with us, enabling LLCAG to continue our charitable activities, including the scholarship program and support of FFA, school sports, and Lower Lake Cemetery clean-up to name a few, and of course, our biggest event, Lower Lake Daze Parade and Street Fair. In fact, we have changed the format to emphasize our Main Street business district. And last but not least, LLCAG has added the Lower Lake Christmas Parade and Festival that coincides with the Lower Lake Historic Schoolhouse Museum tree-lighting and open house.

Going forward, we will work hard to not only reconnect with past members but also expand our membership in the Lower Lake community. This has already started with the resumption of our monthly membership dinners held on the second Tuesday of the month. As before, a speaker of interest to the community will be featured at these dinners. One change will be the preparation of the meal. Rather than it being prepared by LLCAG board and general members, the dinners will be prepared, on a rotating basis, by various chefs in the area. By this we hope to not only have a variety of meal styles but also to promote more businesses in our community. If you aren’t now a member we invite you to attend one of our dinners and hopefully join LLCAG. We are the best deal in town with family annual membership dues of just $10!

More to come!!
